East of Pine x DCD Collaboration
When we met Diana, whose passion, creativity, and commitment to sustainability matched ours and further inspired us, we knew we could make something amazing together. In fusing our love for using nature’s colours rather than chemical dyes to create vibrant patterns with Diana’s love for eco-friendly fashion using pre-loved fabrics, some beautifully unique things sure did arise!
In case you don’t know Diana Coatsworth, she specializes in sustainable fashion, mixing preloved, repaired, upcycled materials to create one of a kind eco-friendly fashion. Pieces that are easy, effortless, and truly stand out. Check her out at dianacoatsworthdesign.com (which is where this collection is available to purchase).
Here is how we worked together to go from natures dyes, roadside rust and pre-loved fabrics to stunning, one of a kind, amazingly special jackets and tops.
Step 1 - Diana gathers fabrics as we gather dye materials
Step 2 - Dyeing the fabrics in the East of Pine studio
Step 3 - Fabrics ready to go to Diana
Step 4 - And finally, patterns, cutting, and sewing
If we made that look simple and easy, it’s really quite the process from beginning to end. It was such a joy and an amazing experience to collaborate with DCD! We are truly thrilled with how it all turned out.
Here are some of the finished products.
